Hot off the heels of their sick set of gigs across parts of the states in anticipation for a future release, the brilliant James Ford and Jas Shaw have just given us a taste…and it’s huge–literally, and figuratively.

The track, “Audacity of Huge”, features the beyond yummy collab. with Chris Keating of Yeasayer fame, and let’s just say, it kills. The tune will be the first single track off their second studio record, Temporary Pleasure (due out August 17, Wicheta Recordings).

The track, which is an absolute banger mixed with that lovely electro-twitch we’ve come to love about SMD, reeks of reference to the banalities of pop culture–and it’s got this excellent pop sensibility. Squeal! Golf claps, and the like.

But wait, there’s more. The new record will also feature guest vocals from the lovely Beth Ditto of Gossip, as well as Alex Taylor of Hot Chip, Gruff Rhys, and even Telepathe.

Temporary Pleasure was recorded up at the duo’s east London studio space betwixt 2008 and 2009. P&C had the “pleasure” of being introduced to a few of the tracks as part of their latest live gig set, which rolled through Boston’s Paradise in April. They sounded massive.

“Audacity of Huge” will officially drop as a single August 3rd. Temporary Pleasures is out just a few weeks on, August 17.
