One of punk’s most legendary and genius females has lost her battle with cancer. The woman who gave us “Oh Bondage! Up Yours”, “Germ Free Adolescents”, and “Identity”, was just 53.

Marianne Elliott-Said, who fronted the famed X-Ray Spex, was absolutely monumental in my listening experience. Enjoy some of my favorites here, here, and here, and read about her brilliant life and career here.
