Punk rock’s quintessential aesthetic is that it exists in every man; and the Minutemen displayed this greatest punk ethos in their definitive every man track “History Lesson Part II” the moment Mike Watt penned “this band could be your life” circa 1984.

The track, which appeared on Double Nickels on the Dime, bleeds punk rock. And its days like today–Punk Thursday–where all you can think of is gathering up your friends, screaming fuck it all, and just “go drink, and pogo”.

Or, at least, reminisce of those days at 19, where a Thursday meant doing just that.
