Pulp and Circumstance Podcast: no. 1

There have been many changes at P&C since our unexpected shut down back in April; we’ve added a more robust line-up of regular contributors who not only go out to review gigs for us, but are writing bi-weekly columns of why they adore music, or hate the shit friends, family, and ingrates listen to.

But the latest endeavor by P&C is the podcast. Sure, music blogs have been doing it for ages–but not P&C. And now…welp, we are.

Our first podcast, simply called no.1, features a whole host of delicious summer tunes–brand new tracks we’ve been spinning in the last month or two. It’s filled with plenty of confusingly named remixes and straight up catchy and downright tooth-ache inducing sweet indie pop tunes.

And of course, its all brought to you by the voice of the podcast, Thom Lau, who has been doing a whole boat load of contributing for P&C in its new incarnation (golf claps TL, golf claps). Please be sure, if you live in Boston, to bump into him and buy him a pint. I know I’ve got to. Humbled, as always…

We’ll be–hopefully–pushing a new podcast out to you every month. That’s the goal, at least. I’ll repeat: 1 a month, 12 a year.

Without further babble, I present you with no. 1 in the P&C podcasting series. The tracklist is as follows:

1. Lemonade – Lifted (Le Chev Remix); 2. Sweet Track – Two Way Mirror (Mirror People Remix); 3. Four Tet – She Just Likes to Fight; 4. Maximum Balloon feat. Aku – Tiger; 5. Miniature Tigers – Gold Skull; 6. Hot Chip – I Feel Bonnie (The Bonnie Prince Billy Remix of I Feel Better); 7. Flying Lotus – Heave(n); 8. Sleigh Bells – Tell ‘Em; 9. Broken Social Scene – Texico Bitches; 10. The Pains of Being Pure at Heart – Say No To Love; 11. She & Him – In the Sun; 12. Villagers – Home; 13. Dirty Projectors – I Dreamed I Saw St. Augustine (Bob Dylan cover); 14. The National – Lemonworld
