And in 2020, my partner Zanimal and I decided to collaborate yet again on our top tracks of the year. It’s a pretty massive mix. While this year was tragic in so many ways for us and the world, musicians had a lot of time, and so they channeled the mood and made some art. And it helped us keep sane, get through, cry a heavy, ugly cry when we needed it, and to dance in our kitchen like no one was watching (because no one was, quite frankly) when we needed a release, a sweat, a laugh, a blip of joy.

A proper 4 hours, this wee musical jaunt should take you straight out of one hellish year and bounce you into another (and yes, our year in review art work once again features our pup Jackie, and while he’s not driving a white Mercedes this year, he’s flying free because we lost him in November and I can’t think of a more terrible way to end the first year of a new decade, quite honestly). 2020, you are trash. We aren’t sad to see you go. We are sad that with each passing day, the pandemic rages on and our Jackie’s presence in our house fades as we vacuum up his hair, put away his dishes and treats slowly and one by one, and everyday walk memories to remind ourselves of the joy be brought into our lives. The music plays on; and we can do our best to play the tunes Jackie loved best.
