There’s nothing that makes sense more than gorging on Nick Cave tracks in winter. His voice just sings to the coldness in your soul and warms it.
And it makes perfect sense that humble blogger just switches into rinse, repeat mode when popping on the essential Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds B-Sides and Rarities box set.
Out in 2005, the 3-discs include every unreleased track and the like from the group–and every member its had in its storied career. What’s more, its the only place you can get acoustic versions of “The Mercy Seat” and “Deanna”, “Red Right Hand (Scream 3 Version)–yes I’m series–oh, and that amazing cover of The Pogues’ “Rainy Night in Soho”, which appeared on an EP that featured Shane MacGowan working a Seeds tune.
Oh, and just to convince you, grab my second favorite off the compilation–“Right Now I’m A-Roaming”.
Fucking splendid.
