Nialler9 was spot on when he declared 2011 would be a year for JamieXX. His latest remix, of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” (her latest record’s first single drops 1/16 for good measure) is absolutely gorgeous; it feels gritty and soulful but atmospheric and lustful all at the same time, if that’s entirely possible.

The xx’s beat master manages to vacillate between gorgeous instrumentation and short, staggering percussives. Oh, and he slows up Adele, too.

Yum.

Gobble “Rolling in Deep (Jamie xx Shuffle)” and don’t forget–he’ll release a remix of Gil Scott Heron’s 2010 I’m New Here, to be called We’re New Here, should drop mid-February.
