Leave it to Damon Albarn to be one of the few artists to build a record on the fly, using nothing but apps, and zero post-production work.
And it makes sense.
Of course, I adore all things Albarn and this new record was apparently created whilst touring North America last year in support of Plastic Beach, which means recording equipment was an iPad and there weren’t too many other instruments, save for some uke, some moogs, and melodica, for good measure. It also features the insanely amazing funk master Bobby Womack, responsible for such greats as “Across 11oth Street” who also wrote one of the Rolling Stones’ earliest hits.
You can stream the entire album over here right now; all you need for scarification is an email address, which is completely doable so you have no excuses.
