The five-years dormant German electronic quartet Lali Puna have announced a brand new record, slated for release this April.
Our Inventions is the band’s first long player since 2004’s brilliant Faking the Books; their delicious blend of indie inspired electronic pop will have you drooling in circles thanks to the intermittent, pulsing synths behind a backdrop of truly addictive pop hooks.
The first track off the record, “Remember”, will seriously whet your appetite for more. The gorgeous vocals of Valerie Trebeljahr are a brilliantly subtle on the tune, emitting a sort of haze over the entire track–it’s so subtle you can barely make out what she’s actually singing.
Our Inventions will also feature a guest appearance by the Yellow Magic Orchestra’s Yukihiro Takahashi on the albums final tune.
Lali Puna have released 3 previous LPs and a slew of EPs, singles, and remixes. Members of the band have kept busy with other musical projects over the course of the last five years–including Notwist and Tied & Tickled Trio.
Enjoy the first track off their new record; expect it to drop sometime in February. Squeal!
