As anticipation rises for the sophomore LP from British folk-pop singer Laura Marling, there’s a delicious little interactive video you can check out that allows you to preview tracks off the record, as well as see the video for its first single, “Devil’s Spoke”.
Two years since Alas, I cannot Swim, I Speak Because I Can is a mature record; the tracks are robust and take influence from things like Americana roots gospel rather than twee. At just 37 minutes, nothing is wasted.
The album, which drops April 6, is passionate, filled with themes of broken love, betrayal, and all that emotional hoo which feels well beyond Marling’s 20 years.
Check out the first single, “Devil’s Spoke”, and enjoy the interactive.
